Driving on a suspended

license charged

Jacquelyn Hallock, 20, of Naples, Fla., was charged Jan. 26 with driving on a suspended license during a routine traffic stop, police said.

A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Jan. 30 at Newport District Court, police said.

Driving on an expired

license charged

Joseph Hood, 40, of Newport, was charged Jan. 27 with driving with an expired license during a routine traffic stop, police said.

A pre-trial hearing will be scheduled at Newport District Court, police said.

Bench warrant

violations charged

• Jeffrey Johnson, 34, of 81 Top O' the Mark Drive, was arrested Jan. 27 on two bench warrant violations, one from Newport District Court and one from Washington District Court, police said.

According to police, Johnson called the police station and asked officers to respond to his residence so he could turn himself in.

Johnson was held at the Newport County Sheriff's office, police said.

• Matthew Casey, 24, of 90 Carr Lane, was arrested Jan. 28 on a bench warrant from Washington District Court, police said.

According to police, Casey was picked up during a routine traffic stop.

Casey was transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Jan. 28, police said.

• Kevin Kilroy, 53, of Middletown, was arrested Jan. 27 on a bench warrant from Newport District Court, police said.

According to police, Kilroy was picked up during a routine traffic stop.

Kilroy was transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Jan. 28, police said.

Violation of restraining

order charged

Samuel Baugh, 55, of 73 Carr Lane, was charged Jan. 31 with violation of a no contact order, police said.

Baugh was held at the police station and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 12, police said.

Marijuana possession charged

• Scott Bedard, 25, of 26 Pleasant View Drive, was charged Jan. 31 with first offense marijuana possession, police said. According to police, Bedard was found to be in possession of the drug during a motor vehicle investigation on Walcott Avenue.

Bedard is scheduled for a hearing on Feb. 13 in Newport District Court, police said.

• A 17-year-old juvenile was charged Feb. 1 with first offense marijuana possession during a vehicle investigation at Fort Wetherill State Park, police said.

The case was referred to family court, police said.

Drunk driving charged

James Hutchins, 18, of North Kingstown, was charged Feb. 2 with first offense drunk driving during a traffic stop on Route 138, police said.

Hutchins was held overnight at the police station and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled at Newport District Court for Feb. 2, police said.
