Richard Rembijas, 47
Richard J.C. "Rick" Rembijas, 47, of North Kingstown, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009. He was the life partner of Rey Fernandez.
Born in Jamestown, he was the son of Patricia (Perry) and Alfred Miranda and Richard and Elena Rembijas.
Rick graduated from North Kingstown High School and Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
He worked in public relations and fundraising for the Disney Corporation for 23 years. Upon returning to Rhode Island, he ran his own business as a personal organizer and was very involved with the West Broadway Neighborhood Association. He enjoyed landscaping and traveling.
He is survived by two sisters, Melissa Rembijas Perry of Exeter and Pamela Rogers of Coventry; a step-brother, David Miranda of Connecticut, and their families, his maternal grandmother, Rita Perry, and an extended family and many dear friends. He was the brother of the late Robert Rembijas. He was also the grandson of the late Senator Charles Perry and the late Lt. Col. John and Mary Rembijas.
Visiting hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 at the Fagan- Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown.
Following the service, family and friends will celebrate Rick's life at the PAC Club, 138 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. All are welcome.
