Bach, Beethoven to be piano concert feature

The third concert of the Jamestown Community Piano Association season will feature works by Bach and Beethoven on Sunday, March 15. The concert, at St. Matthew's Church at 4 p.m., is free and open to the public.

Paul Rosenbloom, the principal pianist with the Rhode Island Philharmonic, will begin the program with Partita #6 in E Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach.

For the second half of the program, Rosenbloom will be joined by Ann Samuelson on violin for the "Kreutzer Sonata" in A major by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Rosenbloom is associate artistic director and a frequent soloist with the Musica Dolce orchestra and has conducted the Young Peoples Symphony, the URI and Ariosti chamber orchestras.

Samuelson has been lead violin and concertmaster for Musica Dolce since 2000. She also performs with the Rhode Island Philharmonic and the Hartford Symphony.

The Jamestown Community Piano Association is an organization whose purpose is to maintain the piano for use by the community and to present concerts that feature the piano. All concerts are free.
