Learn about health care at Spirit Day
For the sixth year, the South County Hospital Healthcare System will participate in the annual North Kingstown Spirit Day at North Kingstown High School on Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At Spirit Day, South County Hospital's VNS Home Health Services will provide free health screenings - cholesterol and glucose, blood pressure checks and balance testing.
One of the hospital's registered nutritionists will be promoting milk as part of a healthy diet with a "Got Milk" demonstration where kids can drink milk shakes and have their photo taken.
Information will be available on South County Hospital's Maternity Services and Bright Beginnings, a program for expectant families.
The hospital will also introduce the new South County Hospital Medical & Wellness Center, located on the border of North Kingstown and East Greenwich. Some of the many services offered at The Medical & Wellness Center are: Family Medicine and Ob/Gyn private practices, Anticoagulation Services, Bone Densitometry, Digital Mammography, Laboratory, Occupational Health, Physical Therapy, Ultrasound, Urgent Care, Wound Care and a Travel Clinic.
Hospital staff, including medical director Dr. Sandra Johnson, will be on hand to meet residents and answer questions.
