New memberships available for Jamestown Golf Club

The Jamestown Golf Club is seeking new members who reside in Jamestown for the 2009 season. It is also time for current members to renew their memberships.

Annual dues are $60 for men, $30 for women and free for juniors under 18, although it is asked that juniors register nonetheless.

Membership in the Jamestown Golf Club, which plays all its tournaments at the Jamestown Golf Course, includes:

• Rhode Island Golf Association membership, making a member eligible for RIGA tournaments.

• Eligibility for RIGA's invitational packages of five select courses statewide.

• A certified U.S. Golf Association handicap, recognized worldwide.

• Eligibility for all Jamestown Golf Club tournaments, which has been expanded to seven events for 2009, beginning in April with a "Meet the Members" tourney; the traditional Members Classic, Member-Member, Member- Guest, and Stableford; a special "gimmick" tourney; and a Turkey Shoot to wrap up the year. It also qualifies a member for the club championships.

Any Jamestown resident wishing to join the Jamestown Golf Club can do so by sending the appropriate dues in a check made out to Jamestown Golf Club to Al Auger, Treasurer, Jamestown Golf Club, 16 Rosedale Terrace, Middletown, RI 02842
