Town should try to stay ahead of potholes
      I have a few questions that have recently occurred to me regarding potholes on Jamestown. First off, is there only so much money to be spent on fixing or maintaining our roads, and when it is gone drivers are forced to deal with what there is until more funding comes?

Thanks for basketball team support
      The Jamestown Girls Recreation Under-10 travel basketball team would like to thank Maureen Dunn Packer for her generous donation and support of our team. We participated in two basketball tournaments in North Kingstown over the weekends of March 6 to 8 and March 13 to 15.

Thanks to 'Toast' volunteers and sponsors
      Last weekend, we raised a glass in honor of Chris Powell, this year's Jamestown Education Foundation 'Toast of the Town.' What a great evening it was, with funny and touching toasts to Chris, live music by Barcode, a little bird trivia, all topped off with Chris's favorite apple pie!

      I read with great interest the March 19 Press article about the exhibit at the Jamestown Philomenian Library and comments by Ray Rickman, project director of the traveling exhibit titled, "Hidden from History: Slavery in Rhode Island from its Inception to Its End.

Pet vaccinations this weekend
      This Saturday, April 4, the annual Rabies Clinic will be held at the fire station on Narragansett Avenue from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jamestown pet owners whose pets have not been vaccinated or who are due for a vaccination are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to protect your pet and you against rabies.
