Thanks to 'Toast' volunteers and sponsors

Last weekend, we raised a glass in honor of Chris Powell, this year's Jamestown Education Foundation 'Toast of the Town.' What a great evening it was, with funny and touching toasts to Chris, live music by Barcode, a little bird trivia, all topped off with Chris's favorite apple pie! Many thanks to all who came out to support JEF in honoring Chris for his many contributions to Jamestown. We are also grateful to those who were unable to attend the party but contributed to JEF in Chris' name.

Our corporate sponsors again gave generously to our effort. Special thanks to the following businesses: Atlantic Lawn & Garden, Amazing Women, BankNewport, Cathryn Jamieson Salon, Kevin Gaudreau, Image Loft, Keen Design Studio, Kettlebottom Outdoor Pursuits, Lisa Carlisle Architect, Livingston Marine Associates, Mary Meagher Design, Lucille Newman, Rover Special Vehicles, Dean Wagner, Esq. Schechtman Halperin Savage, Dr. Peter J. Schott, SmartCycle, Taste Design Inc., and Trattoria Simpatico.

We are also very grateful to the following businesses and individuals who donated their goods or services; Michael Barclay de Tolly, Bridge Liquors, Grapes and Gourmet, Jamestown Designs, Jamestown Wine & Spirits, Joe Logan and the Secret Garden.

Many gave of their time and energy to make the toast the success it was. Thank you Mark Baker, our master of ceremonies, Candy Powell, and the families of our board members who worked tirelessly on our behalf.

Proceeds from the toast will go toward additional programming for Jamestown students. We thank our supporters for making this possible.

Mary Hall Keen

JEF President
