Frank C. Pritchard, 84
Frank C. Pritchard, 84, of Windsor St., Jamestown, formerly of Portsmouth, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at home after a long illness surrounded by his loving family.
A Pawtucket native, he was the husband of Helene (Sylvander) Pritchard, and they had been married for 58 years. He had worked as a newspaper reporter and as the public affairs officer for the Newport Naval Base and for NETC. A World War II Marine Corps veteran, he retired from the R.I. Army National Guard as a captain in 1969.
Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, David C. Pritchard and his wife, Paula Rosin of Jamestown; two daughters, Christine A. Pritchard and her husband, Chuck Bell of Moss Beach, Calif., and Lisa C Pritchard and her husband, Ken Dolbashian of Middletown; six grandchildren, Evan and Leah Rosin-Pritchard, Niki and Ari Pritchard-Bell, Kai Dolbashian and Oona Pritchard; and several cousins.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all those who helped to care for Frank during the past 11 months. Among the many lessons Frank taught us were to love and respect children and animals. We love you, Dad.
Visiting hours were held on Tuesday. Burial will be private.
