Driving course offered for seniors
AARP will offer a two-session afternoon defensive driving course for seniors on Wednesday, April 15 and Friday, April 17.
The classroom course will provide Rhode Island drivers, ages 55 and older, a review of driving skills and techniques, as well as strategies and tips to help adjust to normal age-related physical changes that may affect driving ability. Vern Stromberg will conduct the sessions.
Classes will be held at the Jamestown Senior Center from 1 to 5 p.m, with attendance at both sessions, eight hours total, required to complete the course. Those who complete the entire eight-hour course will qualify for a discount on their auto insurance.
The fee is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.
Checks should be payable to AARP, and payment is due at the first class, with AARP members required to present their membership cards for the discount. For more information or to register, call Charlotte at 423-1026.
