LINKS holds appreciation luncheon
LINKS will hold its annual Volunteer Appreciation luncheon on Monday, April 27, from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at the Cold Springs Community Center in North Kingstown. For the first time, LINKS will be awarding Presidential Service Awards to 45 volunteers who have given 100 or more hours of volunteer time.
Sponsors of the luncheon are Dave's Marketplace and People's Credit Union.
LINKS, a non-profit organization founded in 1970 to recruit, place and support volunteers in the North Kingstown School District. LINKS works closely with parents, teachers, administrators, school personnel, community members and businesses to enhance the educational experience of students, thereby better preparing them for life's challenges and career choices.
LINKS programs include classroom volunteers, library helpers, math and reading guides, COZ Preschool Outreach Screeners, the Career Center volunteers and the Portable PTRC. LINKS partners with the Child Opportunity Zone 21st Century Community Learning Centers by providing volunteers for the after school programs.
