Turn off necklace lights on bridge

The necklace lights on Boston's Zachem Bridge are being turned off. Why? The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority stated that they could save $5,000 a month by turning off the lights.

If RITBA would turn off the necklace lights on the Newport Pell Bridge, they would help our purses and our planet. More stars would return over the island and we could see the nighttime silhouette of the bridge once again. Mary Webster Jamestown
