Chorus award to be presented at concert
The third annual Jamestown Community Chorus Music Award will be presented on Sunday, May 3, at the group's spring concert.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown.
The award, supported by the chorus and by a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation, is offered to encourage interest in music among members of the Jamestown community.
It can fund a project, activity, or experience associated with the musical development of the recipient, such as vocal or instrument lessons, books and materials, music camp, or an instrument. Recipients may be children in grade 6 and up, adults, or seniors.
Tickets to the concert are $10 general admission, and $7 for seniors and children and are available at the door or in advance at the Secret Garden, Baker's Pharmacy, and Jamestown Hardware.
The Sunday event featuring the award presentation is the second of two performances of the spring concert "Classic Choral." The first is on Saturday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m.
