Don't leave the bridge lights on
Lighting the Newport/ Jamestown Bridge with what you call "necklace lights" has no merit at all. It is cheap. It might be called a tourist-dazzler, and nothing else.

Intruding on the night scene, the lights look like a child's tinker-toy, tossed aside in the dark. They distort the geography of the Bay and the lay of the land. Nature is insulted.
Installed to celebrate Christmas, did the bridge authority forget that some people do not mark that holiday?
