The Pennfield School holds family-friendly fair

The Pennfield School will hold one of its biggest events of the year, the annual May Fair, with enough attractions to keep families entertained for hours.

From playing an abundance of games to rocking the Bouncy House, children and their parents will have fun while helping an independent school known for its commitment to academic distinction.

The annual event will be held on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be at Little Slocum Farm, 110 Sandy Point Ave., in Portsmouth. Admission is free.

This year, MayFair visitors can experience Pennfi eld educational programs first hand. Tours will take place throughout the day of the newly planted garden beds designed by Pennfield kindergarten through eighth grade students as part of the school's Science Exposition held on April 21. This year's theme was "environmental stewardship" and Pennfield seventh grade designs will be showcased at the MayFair "green table."

The MayFair silent auction is online and bidding closes at the end of MayFair. Plan ahead and start the bidding early. This year special auction items include an afternoon of fun on a demilitarized assault boat, a five-night getaway at the fabulous Key West Resort at Walt Disney World, Red Sox tickets, summer camps and more. All the auction items can be viewed at www. pennfieldschool.cmarket.com.

Proceeds support Pennfield student enrichment programs, the faculty wish list, student scholarships, teacher enrichment and professional development.
