Fresh wool at the farm
Saturday was sheep shearing day at the Watson Farm and plenty of folks turned out for the annual event. Shearing was the main attraction. There were also yarn spinners, wagon rides, jonny cakes, young chicks and lambs. In the top photo, a sheep gets her annual shearing while other members of the flock, below, wait their turn. School committee considers party policy banning outside food

The School Committee closed its May 7 meeting with a first reading of a school parties and celebrations amendment to the student nutrition policy. School committee members anticipate a possible resistance to this amendment, which prohibits people taking food into the school for school parties or celebrations, such as cupcakes or birthday cakes brought in by a parent.
