Ann Hood is speaker at library meeting
The Friends of the Jamestown Library will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, June 3, at 7 p.m. at the Jamestown library.
The featured speaker will be the author Ann Hood, who will talk about her book "The Knitting Circle."
After the devastating loss of a child, Ann Hood also lost her ability to write. Two years later she was able to start writing again and in her own words "…I learned how to knit. Knitting, I believe, saved my life. But it also introduced me to a new world of yarn and colors and textures and of people. Sitting in various knitting circles, I slowly learned that knitting had rescued other women too. Bad marriages, illness, addiction knitting gave comfort and even hope through life's trials." "The Knitting Circle" is the product of her healing and as such, is a profound and moving work.
There will be a short business meeting before the program. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
