Lions host fishing tournament for visually impaired

The Rhode Island Lions Sight Foundation will host their second annual VIP Fishing Tournament for visually impaired persons and their guides on Sunday, June 28. The tournament will be held on one of the fishing party boats of the Frances Fleet in Galilee, Rhode Island from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. where the participants will be competing for one of several trophies to be awarded.

For many years RILSF has organized a weeklong summer and winter overnight camp for the sight impaired children and teens of Rhode Island.

The addition of this event has created an opportunity to provide an exciting activity for the adult VIPs of Rhode Island.

The tournament is being sponsored and organized by the RILSF and is being supported by several Lions Clubs from the District 42 Lions and will include transportation, breakfast, assistance by guides and volunteers, and will be followed by a buffet lunch at Casey's Restaurant in Wakefield for sharing of stories and presenting awards.
