Fuzz Foundation award deadline nears
The Fuzz Foundation for Dedicated Athletes, a nonprofit volunteer organization, was created in memory of Donald "Fuzzy" Andreozzi by his daughters Megan and Rachel Andreozzi. Their mission is to continue supporting Jamestown athletes whose dedication to their teams and respect for their peers and coaches make them worthy of Fuzzy's accolades.
The Fuzz Foundation for Dedicated Athletes was created as an embodiment of the support Donald "Fuzzy" Andreozzi had for local athletes. For over 30 years, Fuzzy supported youth groups and athletics as a mentor, coach, and fan. Fuzzy was a true role model for all athletes and always emphasized the importance of teamwork and dedication. What mattered to him was how athletes put their heart into what they did, win or lose.
The 2009 awards will be presented to two high school seniors from Jamestown, one male and one female, in recognition of their extraordinary team leadership and dedication to their sports. Each winner will be chosen by a selection committee, and will receive a $500 award to be used towards expenses during their first year of college. The winners will be presented with their awards during the summer at an upcoming event to be announced.
Applications must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, June 30. More information can be found at: www.thefuzzfoundationfordedicatedathletes. blogspot.com.
