Domestic assault charges

Daniel Kitts, 22, of 17 Plymouth Ave., was charged May 29 with domestic disorderly conduct, domestic vandalism, and simple assault, police said.

According to police, Kitts was destroying his father's property after being served earlier with a no-trespass order for his mother's house. Kitts assaulted an officer during the arrest, police said.

Kitts was held at the police station and a re-arraignment was scheduled for June 5 at Newport District Court, police said.

Fugitive from justice charge

Israel Montufar, 36, of Providence, was charged May 28 with being a fugitive from justice, police said.

According to police, Motufer was arrested on a warrant from Massachusetts after a traffic stop.

Montufer was held at the police station and a status hearing was scheduled for May 29 at Newport District Court, police said.

Possession of marijuana charge

Brian Gaudreau, 19, of 413 Davit Ave., was charged May 26 with first offense possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on North Main Road, police said.

Gaudreau was held at the police station and an arraignment was scheduled for May 27 at Newport District Court, police said.

Crank calls charges

Ryan Hareld, 21, of 53 Narragansett Ave., was charged May 25 with making crank or obscene phone calls, police said.

According to police, Hareld turned himself into police.

A re-arraignment was scheduled for June 5 at Newport District Court, police said.

Driving on a suspended

license charge

Brian Nacci, 24, of 169 Conanicus Ave., was charged May 27 with driving on a suspended license, police said.

A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for June 12 at Newport District Court, police said.
