British soccer camp comes to Jamestown

British Challenger will hold two soccer camps at the Lawn Avenue fields in Jamestown this summer.

The camps will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of Challenger’s British coaching staff, who are flown to the USA exclusively to work on these programs. This camp is just one of 1,500 that Challenger Sports are running throughout the US and Canada, for a record breaking 65,000 boys and girls of all ages.

There will be a half-day competitive soccer camp for kids entering grades 6 to 12 from Aug. 10 to 14. The camp is designed for players who would like to take their playing to the next level. A goal keepers camp will also be held at the same time.

Cost for the session is $122.

Half-day camps for ages 4 to 14 are $122, and full day camps for 6 to 14 year olds are $172. Both sessions include a ball, T-shirt and parting gift. Morning sessions are 9 a.m. to noon, afternoon sessions are 1 to 4 p.m. and full-day sessions are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those participants who register at least 45 days prior to camp will also receive an exclusive British soccer jersey. Proceeds from the camp will go to the Jamestown Recreation Department. For more information or to register, visit www.challengersports.com or call 560-0145. Host families are also needed for the coaches and host families will receive a credit towards camp.
