Church festival has something for everyone
Central Baptist Church’s annual June Festival, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, will offer something for everyone.
People interested in a Red Sox baseball game, tap or ballroom dancing lessons, live lobsters, a day of kayaking, or yoga and Reiki sessions should visit the festival’s silent auction. Also included in the silent auction will be a framed set of photographs by Onne van der Wal, gift certifi cates from a variety of stories, tickets to area attractions and gift baskets.
A live auction will begin at 11 a.m. Items will include antique and more contemporary pieces of furniture, computer desks, and paintings and prints.
The festival also will offer a flea market, garden center and country store. Shoppers also will find vintage items, books and videos, jewelry, children’s toys and games, electronics and white elephants. Activities for children will be available.
Diners will find clam chowder, hamburgers, hotdogs, cotton candy and strawberry shortcake. A variety of baked goods and Jamestown-label coffee also will be on sale.
Prizes for the festival’s raffle will include a handmade copper folk-art wall hanging by David Dolce, a $75 gift certificate to the dining room at the Bay Voyage, a $50 gift certificate to Sardella’s Italian Restaurant in Newport and a hand-woven Aid to Artisans basket.
