New art quilt exhibit featured at library
The Conanicut Island Art Association will sponsor an exhibit of 12 mini quilts by Ursula Michael Parenteau in the Jamestown Philomenian library lobby during the month of July.
The exhibit, called “A Year On MY Island,” was inspired by seasonal changes in the weather and natural surroundings. Each art quilt, which depicts a scene for every month, uses thread, fabrics and embellishments as the creative medium.
The exhibit may be viewed during regular library hours.
Also at the library is Parenteauís new book, “Cross Stitch by the Sea,” published by David and Charles. This hardcover book features a delightful collection of seaside motifs for needlework. Copies of the book may also be purchased at Jamestown Designs.
