Thomas R. Oates
      Thomas R. Oates died peacefully, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness on June 26 at his home in Jamestown. Born in Providence to Robert C. and Margaret A. (Coffey) Oates, he is survived by his wife, Christina Seamans Oates; his children, Dr. Daniel J. Oates of Quincy, Mass., and Matthew J. Oates of Rochester, N.Y.; his stepchildren, Stephen J. Truhan of Longwood, Fla., and Dana R. Truhan of Foster; and his sister, Peg McGuirl, of Warwick.

Angelo J. Salvatore, 94
      Angelo J. Salvatore, 94, formerly of Jamestown, died June 27, 2009, at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol. Born in Santa Apollinare, Italy, he was a son of the late Gabriel and Marietta (Valenti) Salvatore. He was a foreman for the former United Wire and Supply Company of Cranston, and was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.

Wilson G. Sallum, 87
      The Rev. Wilson G. Sallum, 87, of Jamestown, died peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2009, at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Helen S. Sallum for 60 years. Born in Alpinopolis, Brazil, he was a son of the late Jose J. and Graciana (Goncalves) Sallum.
