Vincent W. Storey, 49
Vincent Storey died on July 8, 2009, after a long struggle with a brain tumor. He passed away peacefully, and was surrounded by his family.
Vin is survived by his sister, Terrie Storey of Jamestown; his brother, Thomas Storey of Warwick; his brother, Ronald Storey and his wife Donna of Smithfield; nieces Vanity, Jodi and MackEnzie; his aunt, Rosemary McGonigal of Jamestown; and his aunt, Marjorie Cooney of Narragansett. Additionally, he is survived by cousins Suzanne Vieira, Christine Greene and William Cooney, as well as other extended family members in Rhode Island.
Most recently, Vin was well known at the Jamestown Portuguese American Citizens Club (PAC) for hosting the weekly karaoke night. He delighted in watching everyone have fun through the music he played. He admirably spent great effort and time, despite impairments from his tumor, to ensure that this weekly event could be enjoyed by all.
He was born in 1960 to parents Mack and Patricia Storey (both deceased). He worked at the family business, Heat-O-Vector, a company that produced wood-burning stoves. Vin later partnered with his brother, Ron, at Greenville Auto Welding, a classic car restoration business, for more than 20 years. He was also a skilled craftsman, carpenter and metal worker.
Vin was a kind and caring person who touched the lives of many people. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends, who knew him well.
A scattering of ashes will be performed during a private ceremony with the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hopkins Manor Nursing Home, 610 Smithfield Road, North Providence, RI 02904.
