CIAA awards Jamestown student scholarships
The Conanicut Island Art Association has awarded its annual nontuition scholarships to three high school seniors from Jamestown. Sarah Pease, Andrea Croak and Jessica Bucklin will share in the CIAA scholarship totaling $3,000.
Scholarships were awarded by a committee that reviewed samples of the students’ work, as well as a short essay describing the students’ artistic goals.
Deffley named to dean’s list
Meredith Deffley of Jamestown was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Dean College in Franklin, Mass.
Novis named to Phillips Academy honor roll
Austen C. Novis of Jamestown was named to the honor roll at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., for the spring term.
Job graduates from Roger Williams University
Keith Job of Jamestown graduated from Roger Williams University on May 23. He received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.
Islanders named to St. Michael’s honor roll
St. Michael’s Country Day School in Newport named the following Jamestown students to its spring 2009 honor roll: Tim Howe and Callie Reis in grade 8; Libbie Desrosiers, Becky Howe and Aidan O’Farrell in grade 7; Kevin Babich in grade 6; and Ben Hodosh and Finn O’Farrell in grade 5.
