Providence Animal Rescue will bring “The Art of Compassion” to the Jamestown Philomenian Library on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This hour-long program for children of all ages will guide participants to focus on three images of the animal-human relationship and express their feelings in words and drawings.

The free event is supported by the Friends of the Jamestown Library. Registration is not required.

Bring a donation of an old towel or blanket, or a canned food, for the shelter if you choose.
