The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum Association recently held its annual scholarship award ceremony at the museum. Recipients Alex Seidler and Leigh Archer were each presented with a check for $1,000 by President Richard Sullivan.

Seidler, a graduate of North Kingstown High School, will attend Boston College, while Archer, a graduate of St. George’s School, will attend Cornell University.

The winners were chosen from a competitive applicant pool of Jamestown high school seniors In addition to outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements, applicants were also asked to write about Beavertail Light, museums and U.S. history.
