House museum to host ‘Day in the Country’
On Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 5 p.m. (weather permitting), Clouds Hill Victorian House museum in Warwick will offer demonstrations of old-time cider making, horse-drawn plowing and Victorian crafts.
See exhibits of garden tools and sports equipment from the Victorian era, take a carriage ride, have your photograph taken in Victorian attire, play Victorian games or try your hand at pumping a miniature handtub (the first fire-fighting apparatus on wheels). Learn the secrets of canning and preserving from a cook with decades of experience, or wear a favorite garden hat and enter a competition for the best decorated hat.
Admission is $5 per person, children 12 and under are free. Additional fees will be charged for some activities, including carriage rides, photography and house tours.
