The Secret Garden’s annual Sunflower Contest will wrap up this weekend with the awarding of the ribbons for the largest blooms and the tallest plants in several categories.
Anyone who grew a sunflower for the contest is encouraged to drop it off at the Secret Garden, 12 Southwest Ave., between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Janice F. Fuquea (Blythe), 72, of St. Petersburg, Fla. died Aug. 17, 2009, at Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin, Fla. Janice was born in Pawtucket, R.I. and lived in Jamestown for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Jeff, John and Jim Neronha; sister, Beverly Lewis; niece, Teresa Worthley, two nephews, Allen Worthley and Kevin Lewis; and seven grandchildren. More...
