Thanks for successful Skatefest 2009
The Jamestown Teen Center would like to thank everyone who made Skatefest 2009 such a successful event. Thank you to everyone who attended Skatefest and showed your support and enthusiasm for the Teen Center and skateboarding. Many thanks to the recreation department staff and the litter team for all of your hard work before, during, and after the event; Lew Kitts from the School Department for coming in on your day off to make sure we had everything we needed.
Thank you, Freddie Bingell from the House of Pizza, for bringing the “Hot Dog Thing” and supplying all the refreshments for the day. Thanks to Jay Hamel for helping with promotions and designing the posters, you are so patient with all of the last minute changes and requests.
Thank you to Robb and Lynn Roach for your support of the Teen Center and Robb, thank you so much for being our emcee again, keeping the day running smoothly and introducing Jamestown to guitarist Steve “Ioneye” Lepre, reggae DJ Ras Benjamin and DJ Justin Headberg. The entertainment was great and we never would have had the privilege of hearing those great artists without your support.
Thanks to videographer Ty Leger of Kettlebottom Outfitters for filming the event. We would also like to thank all the businesses who sponsored the event either financially, with merchandise or both: The Chemical Company, East Ferry Market, Kettlebottom Outfitters, Spinnakers Café and Zoo York. We would also like to thank Jamestowners Brian and Stephanie Costanas from Smith Optics, and Paul and Jackie Dancheck from Volcom. Thank you to Sid Abbruzzi from Water Brothers for donating merchandise from your shop and promoting the event to your skaters. Thank you to Impact Action Sports for bringing BMX bikers and doing some awesome demonstrations.
Skatefest 2009 was a ton of fun and hopefully it will be an even bigger success next year. Thanks again!
