The Shack grateful for warm welcome
We would like to thank the Jamestown community for the warm welcome we have received as new business owners. The Shack at Dutch Harbor has been a great success so far, thanks to the support and patronage of boat owners and residents alike. We would like to thank a few people, in particular, for their contributions.
First of all, we wish to thank the owners of the boatyard, Larry and Alison Eichler, for making The Shack possible. Dutch Harbor is a spectacular place and it is truly a pleasure to work at their gorgeous boatyard.
Secondly, we would like to thank the contractors who assisted us with the renovation of the “old” shack: Jack’s Electric, Bill Farrell, Joe Martino, David Montoya and the staff of the Dutch Harbor Boat Yard. Without their hard work, The Shack would not have been open this season.
We would also like to thank Bob Sutton and the volunteers of the Jamestown Community Farm for providing us with the very best local produce available.
Lastly, we must thank all of our customers, who have been so supportive in the first few weeks we have been open. Although there was a certain amount of controversy surrounding the opening of a new business in west ferry, we have received a great deal of positive feedback from many members of the neighborhood regarding the way The Shack has operated thus far. Ken Newman has been particularly supportive of us, for which we are extremely grateful.
As lifetime island residents, it is an honor to have the opportunity to establish a small business here. We would like to thank you all for making Jamestown such a special place to live and work.
