Rec. department to host maritime programs for youth
      The Jamestown Recreation Department and Teen Center will offer a series of afterschool classes for kids ages 7 to 15. Classes will be held at Brandaris Maritime at 39 Ocean Ave. in Wickford and all materials needed are included in the program cost.

Photographer to kick off fall forum series at Central Baptist Church

Golf program for kids begins this Tuesday
      The Jamestown Education Foundation will once again offer a five-week golf program for children with the Jamestown Golf Course, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 15. The program will run through Oct. 13. Tee-offs will begin at 3 p.m., with foursomes leaving every 10 minutes. The program can accommodate a maximum of 20 children who have previously played on a course.

PTO to sponsor third annual tournament
      The Jamestown Schools PTO will sponsor its third annual golf tournament and steak fry on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Jamestown Country Club. Check-in time is 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. The $70 entrance fee includes nine holes of golf, a steak fry dinner and complimentary gifts. Golfers must register as foursomes.
