Photographer to kick off fall forum series at Central Baptist Church

Photographer and lecturer Prentice K. Stout will return to Central Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, to kick off the congregation’s series of fall forums. Stout will present a lecture and photo presentation on “Quiet Waters: A Visual Tribute to a New England Salt Pond.”

Stout’s book, “A Place of Quiet Waters,” pays tribute to the natural history of Point Judith Pond and the Harbor of Refuge. His photographs have been featured in such publications as National Geographic, and he has lectured nationally and internationally about his travels.

Stout was a marine education specialist at URI’s graduate school of oceanography for almost 20 years. After his retirement, he taught oceanography at two area private schools and headed the YMCA Camp Fuller Sea Quest marine studies program.

The free forum is open to the public. Call 423-1651 for more information.
