See the bay from the top of the Beavertail light tower
On Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors to the Beavertail Lighthouse in Jamestown can enjoy spectacular views from the top of the light tower. The event is sponsored by the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum Association to celebrate completion of the first round of repairs to the tower and two keepers’ houses.
Admission is free, but a donation of $5 is suggested from each adult. These donations will help fund the extensive work still to be done in renovating the buildings, expanding the museum and developing new exhibitions on lighthouse history and technology.
The museum is open and free of charge, and features displays on lighthouse and coastal history, including the Fresnel lens once in place in the light tower.
The museum gift shop will also be open during the event.
