Josephine Wharton Johnson Williams, 67
Josephine Wharton Johnson Williams of Philadelphia, Pa. and a life-long summer resident of Jamestown, R.I. died suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009. She was 67 years old.
The daughter of Lewis and Joanna Johnson of Houston, Texas, and Philadelphia, Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 19, 1941, in Cohasset, Mass. She received her higher education at the Westover School, Middlebury, Conn., Connecticut College in New London, Conn., and Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa.
An experienced licensed realestate broker, Mrs. Williams was also a published freelance writer. A devoted supporter of many causes, she will be remembered for her tremendous courage, unfailing good spirits and marvelous sense of humor.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sarah Bay Williams of Venice, Calif., and two sisters, Marianna Johnson Baker of New York City and Sarah Johnson Mueller of Minerva, Ohio.
