Ellen C. Harvey, 84
Ellen C. Harvey, 84, formerly of Rhode Island, died Sept. 24 at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown, N.Y., where she had been a resident since April 9.
Born Nov. 26, 1924, in Gloucester, Mass., the daughter of Sumner and Susan Jacobs Burns, she graduated from Gloucester Schools.
She married Edward Harvey on Jan. 11, 1945, in Gloucester, Mass. Mr. Harvey died in July 1986 in Rhode Island, where they resided.
Mrs. Harvey was a homemaker. She lived all over the Eastern U.S. and several foreign countries, following her husband on job assignments.
Mrs. Harvey enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles, reading, bird watching, her pet cats and collecting miniature lighthouses.
She moved to Clayton, N.Y. in 2003 to be closer to her daughter.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Wendy Harvey of Jamestown and Bruce and Kathy Harvey of Charlestown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jeffrey Taylor of Chatham, N.J., and Diane and David Clark of Clayton, N.Y.; one brother, Paul Burns of Terre Haute, Ind., 10 grandchildren and two great-grand children. Two sisters and a granddaughter predeceased her.

A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew’s Church, 87 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m. Burial will be private.
