Green consultant to speak at Shores meeting
Nancy Escher, an eco-consultant for Green Irene – an East Coast company that advises businesses and residents on how to “go green” and in the process, save energy, water and money – will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Jamestown Shores Association on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Jamestown Senior Center.
Escher will speak on “Ten things we can do to protect water quality in the Shores by being a good green neighbor.”
Escher studied at the University of Rhode Island, becoming a master gardener, master composter and recycler, as well as a URI/CRMC certified invasive plant manager. She grows organic vegetables and works as an eco-consultant and coowner of Seaside Gardeners, a local firm offering landscape design and plantings that use little water and no chemical fertilizer, herbicides or pesticides.
The meeting is free and open to the public; coffee and dessert will be served.
