The North Kingstown High School sailing team recently qualifi ed for the Great Oaks Regatta, a national event in New Orleans, La. in November.

To help raise funds for this event, the team will hold a “Taste of New Orleans” dinner this Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Wickford Yacht Club. Two seating times, 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m., will be available.

The event will feature a jambalaya dinner, dessert, live music and an odd jobs auction.

The WYC is located at 165 Pleasant St. in Wickford. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
