‘Scouting for Food’ drive begins this weekend

Local Boy Scouts will drop off plastic bags for donations of nonperishable food this Sunday, Nov. 1. Food will be collected for the R.I. Community Food Bank on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Donors are encouraged to fill their bags with the food bank’s most-needed items, including:

• Protein: Canned soup, tuna, meats, peanut butter, nuts

• Canned fruits and vegetables, including juices and tomato sauce

• Carbohydrates: Nutritious breakfast cereals, whole wheat pasta and rice

• Crackers, granola bars and cheese & cracker packages

• Canned or dried beans
