Thanks for a great soccer season

This was my first year as the recreation soccer coordinator, and it was a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed Saturday mornings on the soccer field watching the kids running around in brightly colored shirts. It brought back great memories of my childhood, and I was glad to see everyone having a good time.

A lot of behind the scenes work is required to pull off the season, and I want to thank everyone for their hard work. Julie Westall and Darlene Froberg did a tremendous amount of work to make the league successful, and Jay Sisson does a great job coordinating JSA and tirelessly taking care of all the soccer fields. The program could also not be possible without our sponsors: The Fuzz Foundation, Jamestown Boat Yard, Slice of Heaven, Jamestown Golf Course, Baker’s Pharmacy, House of Pizza, Jamestown Animal Clinic, Jamestown Fitness, Vandelay Industries (a.k.a. the Pratt and Schott families), Ali’s Run, Lila Delman, Meredith & Clarke, Island Realty, Kettlebottom Outfitters, Stearns Farms, Well Works, McQuade’s Market, Jamestown Junior Women’s Club, Murphy’s Law, Conanicut Marine Services, Jamestown Rotary Club and Jamestown Hardware.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the coaches and assistants that helped this year. I believe the coaches are the foundation of our program and we have a great pool of coaches that can help continue to build our youth program, as proven by the great Jamestown competitive teams currently playing. I look forward to seeing everyone in fall 2010!
Chris Cowan
