Now through Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, all BankNewport and OceanPoint Insurance Agency offices will collect community donations of non-perishable food items for the R.I. Community Food Bank.

Food donations will be accepted at all BankNewport branch locations in Newport, Bristol and South Counties, and at Ocean- Point Insurance Agency offices in Middletown and Jamestown.

Most-needed items at the Food Bank include canned meats, soups, fruits and vegetables, rice, cereals, peanut butter, beans and whole-wheat pasta.
