Church services to celebrate Christmas

Seasonal reflection Seasonal reflection Island churches will hold several special services and Masses next week to celebrate the Christmas holiday.

St. Matthew’s Church will hold two Holy Eucharist services on Thursday, Dec. 24, at 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.

St. Mark Church will celebrate its daily Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24, as well as a Christmas Eve family Mass at 5:30 p.m. and a Christmas Eve night Mass at 9 p.m. On Christmas Day, Dec. 25, the church will celebrate Masses at 8:30 and 10 a.m. St. Mark Church will also celebrate daily Mass at 8:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31, as well as a Holy Vigil Mass at 5:30 p.m. on that day. On Friday, Jan. 1, a Holy day Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m.

Central Baptist Church will hold a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24. On Sunday, Dec. 27, at 9:30 a.m., the church will present “Voices From the Manger,” an adaptation of lessons and carols, along with readings and poetry, all from the perspective of the people and animals who were at the manger scene.
