Frank W. Hilton, 77
Frank W. Hilton, 77, of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of Wakefield, passed away on Dec. 5, 2009. He was the husband of Peg (Clendenning) and the late Edith (Sylvester), and the brother of the late Arthur W. Hilton. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Arthur and Josephine Hilton.
He also leaves a son, Peter Hilton, and his wife, Cheryl; a daughter, Lesley Grimes; stepson Ron Clendenning; stepdaughters, Carol Hopkins, Jacqueline Piro, Nancy Clendenning and eight grandchildren.
He worked at R.I. Engine in Narragansett for more than 25 years. He belonged to Hope Lodge #25 Freemasons for 50 years, Unity Chapter #12 Royal Arch, Narragansett Commandry #12 Knight Temple, R.I. Shriners – Legion of Honor and Directors Staff, U.S. Navy Seabee Veterans of America, American Legion Post #157 and Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge #2285. He had been a volunteer for the Wakefield Fire Dept. and a member of the South County Ambulance Corps for many years.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the R.I. Veterans Cemetery Chapel, with a reception immediately following at the South Kingstown Elks Lodge #1899, 60 Belmont Ave., Wakefield.
