Library to feature ‘Sleeping Beauty’

The Jamestown Philomenian Library will present “Sleeping Beauty,” Charles Perrault’s fairy tale classic adapted by Yorick’s Marionette Theatre, on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. for children of all ages and their families.

The 40-minute performance is presented with hand-carved wooden marionettes. Marionettes are puppets activated by strings. Those used by Yorick’s Productions are hand carved by artist Dusan Petran, a native of the former Czechoslovakia.

This free children’s program, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Jamestown Library, will take place in the meeting hall. Registration is not necessary.
