Thanks for chorus concert help
On behalf of the Jamestown Community Chorus, I am writing to express our thanks and appreciation to the many, many people who helped make our gala 60th anniversary concerts such a success:
To our guest musicians, Director Emerita Ginny Eastman; guest conductors Joanne Loewenthal and Bethany Clarke; the members of our rock band and to all the chorus alumni who sang the Handel with us.
To the Jamestown Fire Department for hanging our banner.
To the Jamestown Historical Society for providing Jamestown history, events and pictures.
To everyone who purchased tickets for our performances; to all businesses on and off the island who placed ads in our concert program; to Jamestown Hardware, Baker’s Pharmacy and The Secret Garden, who sold advance tickets for us, and again to Jamestown Hardware for help printing the programs.
To the Central Baptist Church for our rehearsal space and for the use of their handbells.
To the Jamestown recreation center for our concert venue, and to the Portuguese American Citizens Club for our post-concert reception venue.
To everyone at the Jamestown Press for their help all season long in publicizing the concerts, and their assistance in designing the programs.
To WRIU 90.3 FM for airing public service announcements about the chorus and playing tracks of our songs.
To Sav Rebecchi and Jerry Scott for recording the music.
To Tim Yentsch, Kathy Karl, Jim Keller, Mary Beth Traer and Agnes Filkins for selling tickets, and to Al Lundgren for selling cookbooks.
Thank you, Jim Perry, for running the slide show and Tony Gutierrez, for helping put up, run, and take down lights and staging.
Many thanks to you all! We look forward to the next 60 years of making music. Our spring season begins Monday, Jan. 11, with the first rehearsal for our spring 2010 concert, “For the Birds.”
