Marie B. Mack, 88
this life on Dec.
18, 2009, at R.I. Hospital.
She was born in the Olneyville section of Providence to her late parents, Anton Mackewicz and Eva (Kravis) Mackewicz. She was predeceased by her only brother, Julian Mackewicz, and by her two sisters, Ann Mahoney and Barbara Haggis.
She is survived by her four nieces, Janice Barron and her husband, James, of Jamestown; Joan Cashman and her husband, William, of Saunderstown; Carol Lavin and her husband, Kevin, of Narragansett; and Barbara Thompson and her husband, Robert, of Saunderstown; nine grandnieces and nephews; and six great-grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandnephew, John Lavin.
Following graduation from high school, Marie began her working career at the Providence Navy Base. She moved to Boston, Mass., where she spent most of her working career, and lived near the Red Sox baseball field at Fenway Park. Following her retirement from the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency, she moved to Cranston and then to South County in Rhode Island.
Marie is remembered as a devoted and caring aunt, a friend to so many people and a diehard Red Sox fan. She was always willing to help out family and friends to the best of her ability.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Jan. 2, at 10 a.m. in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett, followed by internment in St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
