Town seeks to fill commission vacancies
The town of Jamestown seeks to fill two vacancies on the Jamestown Conservation Commission. The purpose of the commission is to promote and develop the natural resources, protect the watershed resources and preserve natural aesthetic areas within municipalities. Meetings are conducted monthly on the second Tuesday of the month; these terms will end Dec. 31, 2012.
A vacancy also exists on the Jamestown Housing Authority. Meetings are held at Pemberton Apartments in the evenings at least once a month. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, investigations into the living, dwelling and housing conditions and into the means and methods of improving such conditions. The term will end on Dec. 31, 2013.
Those interested in these positions should submit an application and letter of interest to Town Clerk Arlene Petit by Monday, Jan. 25. Applications are available at www.jamestownri.net or at the Town Clerk’s office in Town Hall at 93 Narragansett Ave. Those who have submitted letters in the past are encouraged to do so again.
