Chesley Sullenberger, captain of U.S. Airways Flight 1549, was on hand to greet South Kingstown high-speed ferry captain Carl Lucas and his wife, Katie, bookkeeper at the Jamestown Press, during a recent anniversary celebration in New York City. Lucas captained the Athena on Jan. 15, 2009, when Sullenberger made his now-famous landing in New York’s Hudson River, and assisted with rescuing 19 passengers – including Sullenberger.
