Anderson graduates from URI

Caroline Anderson, daughter of Jack and Cleo Anderson, and granddaughter of Helen Anderson, recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with a B.S. in human development and family studies, and a B.A. in Spanish. This September, she plans to begin graduate studies in special education.

Brendlinger named to PCD honor roll

Michael Brendlinger of Jamestown was recently named to the honor roll for the first trimester at Providence Country Day School. Honors are awarded to students with a grade point average of 3.3 to 3.7, with no grade below a B minus.

Frank named to URI dean’s list

David Frank, son of Danny and Caroline Frank of Jamestown, has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Rhode Island for the fall 2009 semester. Frank is a junior studying horticulture.

Islander named to Quinnipiac dean’s list

Brett Uttley of Jamestown was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Quinnipiac University.

Newbolt named to dean’s list at R.I.T.

Joel W. Newbolt of Jamestown has been named to the dean’s list for the fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. A first-year student in the College of Sciences, Newbolt is studying physics.

Newbolt, the son of William and Annette Ragland Newbolt of Jamestown, is a 2009 graduate of North Kingstown High School.

Wright named to principal’s honor roll

The name of sophomore Georgia Wright was inadvertently left off the list of students named to the honor roll at North Kingstown High School for the first quarter of the 2009-2010 school year.

Wright, a Jamestown resident, was named to the principal’s honor roll, an honor given to students whose grades average 90 and above.
