Portsmouth Abbey honors island students

Two Jamestown students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 trimester at Portsmouth Abbey School. They are sophomores Fergus O’Farrell and Stephanie Waterman.

Named to the honor roll for the fall trimester at the school were Jamestowners freshman Katherine Normand, sophomores Jeffery Heath and Matthew Jewell-DeMieri, junior William O’Farrell and senior Elizabeth Cook.

The dean’s list formally recognizes the scholastic achievement of students whose average is unusually distinguished. To qualify, a student must take at least six courses, have a GPA of 3.5 and no grade under B in regular courses or under B- in Honors/AP courses. Students on the honor roll have a GPA of 3.0 and no grade under C+.

Conlon named to president’s list

Molly Conlon of Jamestown has been named to the president’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, N.H.
